yard initialization

Hi,

1) How I can initialize a yard with an initial population of containers just with yard planner ?

2) How I can ask a gantrycrane to do some task with inserttask function because there is no trigger in gantrycrane interface.

1. The Yard is only populated using a back-calculation based on what would be there at the start of the model as determined by the other planners (Berth, Gate, and/or Rail). You can't add containers with just the Yard Planner.

2. You use the Resource Assignments tab of the Yard Planner to control Gantry Cranes. Flexsim CT has a unique interface for controlling its objects. You do not interact with them directly like a normal Flexsim model. You have to use the Planners to control movements in Flexsim CT.

Can I use a gantry crane without using a yard ? For example, using a gantry crane with a rack and define a sequence task for the gantry crane to pick up objects from the rack.

You can use a regular Flexsim crane if you want to move something from an object to a rack. You can customize the crane's 3d visuals so that it looks and moves like a gantry crane. I have attached an example.
