Default Syntax error on Windows 7 64bit

Folks,

after installing Flexsim 4.5.2 on my Windows 7 64 bit laptop, I'm no longer able to compile models. I tried to build an empty model (both compile model and compile entire session). In addition, I tried the demo model "robotic palletizing cells". If I open Visual Studio 2008 (standard) from the Flexsim menu, it opens without problems. Building the VS 2008 project leads to no errors but 95 warnings.

The home directory for Flexsim is C:\Flexsim4 and the home directory of Visual Studio is C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0.

The demo model itself runs without problems if I just run it as is.

Does anybody have any ideas where these syntax error messages come from and how to fix them? Any help is really appreciated.

Cheers,
Oliver

Hi,

What is the syntax error you get?
A screen shot over the error would be good.

There is 2 things that I directly have in mind, first is problem with permission on directories and the second thing is that you are on a 64 bit system and Flexsim is 32 bit.
The guess is that when you compile the model on your system it will be 64 bit but Flexsim expect it be 32 bit.

You need to run Flexsim as an administrator in order to compile. You also need write permissions for your Flexsim4 directory.

To run Flexsim as an administrator, right click it and select "Run as administrator". You can set Flexsim to always run as an administrator by checking a box in the properties of the shortcut.

In the Compiler Configurator on a 64-bit machine, your paths should be:

Visual Studio Install Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0
Platform SDK Install Path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A.

Everything is fine now. Thanks a lot for the quick response. The problem was that I selected the (x86) folder for the SDK, too.
