Flexsim as a Management Training Tool
Does anyone know if/how Flexsim has been used in a management training environment?
I'm partnering with an educator who works in management training and we are looking into using Flexsim as the engine to provide practical experience of managing situations - by manipulating resources via a GUI. The first model will likely be a generic retail environment (similar to but larger than the supermarket demo model) with a GUI that allows trainee managers to manage the store. During the course of the training things will happen that the managers will need to react to (similar to the “Beer Game”, which is a well known management development game). Things that would happen include staff shortages, fluctuating customer numbers and satisfaction, IT failure, too much stock, etc... We'll likely also look at training in a mining environment also (as this is a huge market here in Australia) Does anyone know of similar work as I would be happy to collaborate? Also - if anyone has any comments as to potential issues/risks/traps with using Flexsim in this way please do so. Thanks Kenny |

Thanks David - I know we spoke about this off-line but I thought I should reply in the forum.
If you can find a copy of your beer game model could I have a look at it? Thanks Kenny |
