MTBF Question
If you set the MTBF to a static number say.. 100. Then, the processor in question will fail 100 time units into processing- not 100 time units on the sim clock. So a processor can only fail while processing an item and not before receiving it.
We have machines that will fail on start up and the part is re-routed in this case allowing for a failure during processing and before accepting a part. How to model this?

ok its easy..if down close input port. However, can I get an MTBF based on the sim clock not on the processor time?

Gavin,
In the MTBFMTTR GUI there is a breakdowns tab. In there there is an "Apply MTBF to a set of states" check box. If you uncheck this box the breakdown will be applied to "all states" or the sim clock as you have put it. If you are using the Processor MTBF MTTR button on the processor to do the break down instead of a Global MTBFMTTR then you should stop and use the Global one. The Processor MTBF MRRT button is out dated and is only there for backwards compatibility. You'll notice that when you open the GUI the title says that it is Deprecated. Brandon
