Default how to assign a defined run time to a processor

Hi all,

I'm trying to define a yearly run time to all the processors in our model. Let's say availability of machine a) 3400h/a and machine b) 2500h/a. The machines should stop working/go down once they've reached their individual "yearly process time limit".

What happens in our model, is that the machine is going down when the total time (e.g. simulation time of 2500h) is reached. machine b) has just been processing for 200h at this point.

How can I change this? What is the correct section - MTBF???

Thanks for your ideas!

Martin

Hello Martin,

that is correct. Use on the Breakdown Tab "Apply MTBF to a set of states" > processing. That will work for the first year, then it becomes a bit tricky.

Default Setting Yearly Time Limit

Hi,
I have a bit of a work around,
Firstly create shift patterns for each processor. You can create labels on each processor to record the available time per shift for the specific processor and then also the allowed total annual allowed available time per processor. In the time tables resume/stop object triggers simply check whether or not the processor has exceeded it allowable time. If it has been exceeded the processor will not be taken out of its down state and thus remain unavailable.

I have attached a small demo model.
Hope this helps.
