Default QC loation and yard block color tag questions

Hi. Is Flexsim can specific which crane to serve a ship? For example, as graphicsshown below,I want crane 3 to serve the ship. However, when the ship arrived, crane 4 will across crane 3 and serve the ship. It is not reasonable for crane 4 move to left side of crane 3.Is that any solulation to help pn it?

Also, what is the meaning of the color tag show in the yard block?

1. You can adjust quay crane's reset position in order to fix it.
2. The color flag indicate "segregate" and "filling" attributes

Sorry, I still not get your meaning very well about the QC location. Do you mean I should set more berth point and set it as an allocation barrier to control it won't move across another crane? Can you show your adjustment by editing my model? Thanks in advance.

In the above case, I hope it can specify a crane to serve the ship. In the model, if crane 4 is selected, it won't move itself, or both crane 3 and 4 are moved to left together to remain the correct position.

Default Hi. Jack. You can do it a berth point to separate the moving section

Do you mean the right QC not to move to left side?

If it is, you can add one more berth point like attached picture and then place the fourth QC to the right section.

The red line appear in the point of the middle berth point and I remember the QCs can not move over the red line point.

Maybe it will be so...in my remember.

Yes, I hope the right QC won't move to left side by acrossing a QC.

In the real case, this quay line is a straight line. Sometimes it may need to relocate the QC.

In my view, using crane 3 to serve the ship is better than move crane 4 to the center point.

What is more, if it to move crane 4 to left side, crane 3 will act as a barrier, it should move crane 3 to left first, and then move crane 4. Not move crane 4 acrossing crane 3.

I wonder can CT fulfill this situation.

Hi, Jack

You are right. Quay crane allocation algorithm works fine in most case. It should move crane3 instead of crane 4.

This is a bug. You can move crane4's reset position a little right and you fix it.
