Default how to change the position of center z axis which objects rotate around?

i want to rotate a converyor around a axis Parallel to the z axis by the kinematics. but the axis does not go through the center point of the converyor. i found i can only rotate the conveyor around the center z axis of the object. can anyone help me?

hi,

you can put your conveyor in a VisualTool and rotate the VisualTool.
you can place the conveyor, wherever you want in the VisualTool.

you can also solve it by using the kinematics to calculate the new angle on the ondraw trigger and then simple caculate the new location and draw it there with the right rotation. It is not so easy as using the visual tool but your model stays cleaner and if you use a usercommand you can use it more often.

You can change the centroid location of an object by going into its data tree.

1. Find the centroid node under the object's spatial data node
2. Click on the centroid node and press Enter 3 times to add 3 nodes inside of it
3. Press the plus sign to navigate into the centroid node
4. Click on each of the new nodes and press the "N" key to add number data to each

The new nodes are the x,y,z coordinates of the centroid as a ratio of the object size (values 0 to 1). Remember to set the centroid value to 2 so that Flexsim knows to use these values instead of the default.

Steven,

This is a recent addition to the software, when we changed the way the rotation handles work. This more flexible way of handling rotation was added with the Animator so that we could do the operator's animations more easily.
