Is the CPU usage depending on run speed?
One of the German users has installed Flexsim and his model on two different computer because the CPU usage was very high on one computer and this computer had an old graphic card (no idea which one). His idea was to change the graphic card, but only if a better graphic card brings advantages.
He discovered on both computers if he is running with run speed 30 the model is much faster and the CPU usage is not a lot. With run speed 1 the model is running slower (what is clear), but the CPU usage is much higher. So normally you would expect it the other way round, right? If he is having a run speed of 0.5 it is even worse. The model runs much slower, but the CPU usage is again much higher. My question is now if there is anybody who has discovered something similar? Are there any ideas or hints? Does this has something to do with the old graphic card? Will a better graphic card give other results? Why is the CPU usage with a slower run speed higher? Has this something to do with how Flexsim works on the events?

David,
There are two reasons that I can think of that would cause this. 1. He may have the graphics set to compatability mode. This uses the processor instead of the graphics card for many of the calculations. 2. His OnDraw code might be very intensive and so at slower speeds the increased number of OnDraw events takes more processing power than the actual events to run the model. Hope this helps, Brandon
