Machine breakdown using Operators
Hi,
tried to modell a small sample with two processor breaking down and using one operator for the repair. I used the standard function (see modell attached , MTTR/MTBF table) which is casting a coordinted task sequence. Well, the breakdown is performed once but then never happens again ?? So, did I do something wrong?

Hi Nico,
I could not reproduce your problem. Breakdown is working for me. Try to restart Flexsim and try again. Also check that it really stands 'Do nothing' in the resume function. It should work. Lars-Olof |

Hi Lars,
I restarted Flexsim, checked the resume function. (Theres just a return 0; in there). I get the same result. Please try the modell I attached (R2). Does this work with your Version of Flexsim?? I build it at home with the demo Version of 4.32. So the breakdown is only executed once at each processor. I can´t help it, but I can not get it working...

Hi,
It works for me and now I run Flexsim also as the demo version. Did that to be sure that it is nor differences between the demo and full version. If I run the model for 1000 time units the breakdown is for Processor 1 13.4% and for Processor 2 16.1%. Remember that the demo version always use the same random numbers so here can get in some problem. To check if it problem with the random numbers I should do this, change MTBF to constant let say 100 and then MTTR to 20 (also constant). Use By Expression. Run the model and see if you get multiple breakdowns, if yes then your problem depends on the generating of random number in the demo version. Lars-Olof |

Hi Lars,
so I changed MTBF/MTTr to fixed numers but it still does not work. One breakdown at each processor that´s it. Engine Version: 4.3.7 Jan 08 , Lib 4_3 Feb 08. So maybe you got a different Demo?

Hi Lars,
so I got a brand new Demo (march 08) and guess what.. it´s working. Thanks for your replies so I could figure out the reason..

So I don´t want to be picky, but in the states of the processors should be a state waiting for operator (see modell R2 abvove), but there is just an increase in the breakdown.
Think this should be improved, it was a usefull result for the analysis of production systems.
