Default Source production and combiner of a lot of objects

Hello,

I'm modeling a mini-factory of the Lean Manufacturing and i need one source to produce three different objects, and this three different objects will go to a combiner, so i also want that a combiner can combine a big amount of objects.

Thank you very much

Hi,
if you insists using only one source, you have to create at least two object connections from the source to the combiner (eg. using the "a" key).
The amount of products you combine depends on your compenents list. But be aware of the items you send to port port one of your source. The combiner uses only one item from his first input port. In that he packs or joins the items from the other input ports.

I will try that thank you, i have also an other question that concerns the combiner, i want my combiner to combine 6 objects. For example when i connect three sources (which each one produces an object) to a combiner, the combiner combines the three objects but at the time when i add one additional object the combiner refuses to combine. So in my model the limit of the objects that the combiner can work on is 3 i can't do more.

Hi Ismail,

Please be reminded that the containers provided to pack the items together must always be from port 1.

If you want to combine 6 items together with using only 3 sources, then you can go to the properties of combiner --> under "combiner" tab --> change the target quantity supplied from port 2 and port 3. In your case, you may want to set it to 3 since you want the total amount to be 6.

This is what I can help from the way you describe.

I believe the words 'object' and 'item' cannot be used interchangably to avoid confusion.

I am also new to using flexsim. Hope this can help.

Hendry
