Add Graph to custom GUI

I have a recorder in my model that uses user defined data and is a line graph. I want to display this graph as it is updated in the recorder to also show in a custom GUI. What would be the code to do so.

(PS: Is it possible for a recorder to use some variable other than time on the x-axis of the line graph ?)
