Saved Dashboards
Among the many useful features in the Dashboard is the ability to save dashboards and reuse them. There are several times when saving dashboards is helpful. These times include:
1) When you create a dashboard that helps you understand a model, but you don't need it open all of the time. 2) You create a dashboard that you want to share with someone else that is analyzing the same model. 3) You create a dashboard that you want to use with another model that has the same object names as the model where you created the dashboard. This is often true when you have several models that represent different layouts of the same facility. 4) You create a set of dashboards that you use to analyze a model, and a different set that you use to show off the results for reports or presentations. As an example of reason 4, I've attached two sample dashboards that are designed for use with Training Model 8 (available in the downloads section). To use these, follow these steps: 1) Open the model file (Phase 8V4.fsm). 2) Close any dashboards that may already be open. 3) Open a new dashboard and then press the "Open Dashboard" button in the dashboard GUI toolbar. 4) Choose the dashboard file that you would like to open. One of the dashboards is called "SingleRunDisplay.fsd" and shows various statistics of the model after a single, normal run. This displays some nice bar charts and line charts. It's the sort of dashboard that you would use to show results for presentations. You will see results in this dashboard after pressing Reset and Run. The other dashboard is called "ExperimentUtilization.fsd" and shows how to set up dashboards with results from different scenarios. All of the graphs in this dashboard are box plots, which are not the prettiest graphs available, but display a lot of data. This is an example of a dashboard that you might use to analyze the results of a model. You will see results in this graph after running an Experiment. I hope these two examples give you some ideas of what is possible with these new dashboards. |

How to save and reuse dashboards
Hi AJ,
I am running version Flexsim 7.0.2 and cannot find the option "Open Dashboard" in the GUI. Is this capability still available (saving and loading dashboard) in Flexsim 7? Thank you Cristian |

Cristian,
The Save Dashboard and Open Dashboard options are unique to FlexSim Healthcare. They are not available in FlexSim 7.0.2. FlexSim allows you to export the data or graphs from a dashboard using the right-click menu, but you can't save and reopen them like you can in HC. A.J. |
