The website two-step

Hi all,

If you're a long time friend of FlexSim, and you visited flexsim.com in the last few days, you doubtless noticed the new site, and maybe got hung up in some of the issues that were plaguing our new launch.

In order to better server our community, we've decided to postpone our new site until its really ready for prime-time. That is why we've rolled back to the original site.

As far as your FlexSim Account, and your account in this forum, everything is exactly as it was before the new site launched Saturday morning. So, your old email/password for your FlexSim Account, and your old forum username/password remain what they were last Friday.

One downside to this roll-back is that guest users who created an account between Saturday and today - your Account is not yet with us on this site. But don't worry. We're migrating your account over and should have that done in the next few hours.

Another downside - any posts added to the forum between last Saturday and today are missing. We'll work on migrating those back to this forum. At this time we don't know how long that will take but we're hopeful that those posts will come over as well in the next day or so. Feel free to re-post your questions if you don't want to wait.

We offer our sincere apologies for any inconvenience you may have encountered in the transition to the new site, as well as this latest move back to the original site. Our plan is to keep developing the new site offline. When we feel its ready, we'll also be sure to include a beta period, so that anyone who is interested can chime in with bugs or any other feedback. We won't transition again until we're double and triply sure that the new site improves in every way on this original site.

Guest users who signed up between last Saturday and today - your Accounts have been migrated! We moved all profile data that mapped between the two accounts. The big thing that we couldn't move was your password, because the two sites hash them with different algorithms.

What this means is that your Account exists, it will work on this site, but you'll need to reset your password. Sorry for the inconvenience.

No news yet on getting the missing posts over. I'll update tomorrow once I have more news. Again, you can just re-post any questions that you were waiting on if you don't feel like waiting.
