Problem with left-click move
Hello everyone,
I have Flexsim in my school and I bought a new Dell Inspiron recently but I discover a problem: When I try to move the model using the left click of the mouse the model doesn't move, the right clicks allows me to change angle of vision but the left click just doesn't work, I am not using the compatibility mode and when I use it I can move with left click, but the graphics are not good enough for what I'm doing. My computer features are the followings: Dell Inspiron 5520 Intel Core i7 2.1 Ghz RAM 8 Gb Operative System 64 bits Windows 7 Intel HD Graphics 4000 My old computer was a sony vaio 5 years old right now and in it I could move with left click so I don't think the problem could be graphic card, I hope someone could help me and I'll really appreciate it, kind regards |

Have you tried in compatibility mode? (can be found in global preferences / graphics)
If it works in this mode then try to find new drivers for you intel graphics. It is very unfortunate that you bought such a great system without a seperate graphics card. I recommand my clients always to buy a very good game card in their machines. But maybe your machine is fast enough and it runs well, but check out the drivers (both from dell and from Intel) |

The Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics card doesn't use as many bits of precision in its depth buffer as a discrete graphics card.
Because of this issue, the selection of the floorplane (when you pan the model) isn't registered correctly. For the next version, we have resolved this issue to improve compatibility with Intel integrated cards (the HD 4000 in particular), but FlexSim 6.0.2's system requirements still include an Nvidia or AMD graphics card: http://www.flexsim.com/flexsim/#systemreqs Last edited by Phil BoBo; 10-24-2012 at 12:14 PM. |

Thanks Steven Hamoen for your help, if I use the compatibility mode I can click and drag the model, but for the project I am doing I need very high definition of the items.
I am making a highway system and I use a background image of a map so I need to use no-compatibility mode, I will look for the drivers of the Graphic card, and I'll post later. Thanks Phil BoBo. I hope the new version comes soon because it's a need for many people... I think |

Solution to the problem!
Hey guys thank you so much for your help, what I made to solve the problem was to download the drivers at intel.com for the graphic card hd4000 I actually downloaded two drivers updates and then when I was at flexsim I modified:
Color bit depth to 32 Depth buffer bit to 32 and now I am able to click and drag the screen and the whole model Thanks for your time and pacience, I don't know if just changing that features the problem would be solved but I think that update the graphic card driver was the one that save me this time. Thank You! |
