Cannot save a model as an XML file

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am having trouble saving my model as an xml file using flexsim 6. I select the "save as xml" option and the file is saved with the extension .xml, but the contents are binary. What am I doing wrong? Is that a known issue and is there a workaround?

Don't explicitly add a file extension. Flexsim's XML file extension is .fsx. If you type a file extension explicitly, then it will save using the default binary format and that extension.
