Basic TE not moving
Hi,
I am using Basic TE and imported a truck image on to this, now when we are using truck operator, it is not moving at all but transporting items as per its statistics. We have tried with operator also with truck 3d image, there also truck is moving but it is moving sideways i.e its front part is not facing where it is moving to. With forklift, truck 3d image is working fine but it has fork attached to it which does n't look nice. I am curious to understand why it is happening and what could be best solution to use truck in our model. Kindly advise Regards Shashank Trivedi |

If you want to use a basic TE you have to program the offset travel yourself and since you only want a different picture, don't use the basic TE.
Your operator is still the way to go. There are 2 things you can do. Either open the 3D picture in the software you created it in or in a different software (for instance AC3D) and simply change the rotation. Or you can do this on the operator. Go to the General tab page of the object and click the edit button behind "Shape factors". There you can scale and rotate your 3D object. |

Thanks Steven,
We have tried General Tab options earlier and did the same whatever you told however when you run it orientation changes automatically. Yaa i agree with you, if we edit it in 3d software, orientation would be right in the model but importing on other operator objects means they will perform other operation as well on their own like loading unloading which we don't want. I have not tried my hand on Basic TE that's why not familiar with how to use it effectively, if you have some good model to understand usage of Basic TE, will be great help to me. I wanted to give hint to use TaskExecuter instead of Operator or even BasicTE. But can´t find out the difference between TaskExecuter and Operator!?

There is no difference between taskexecuter and operator other then the walking animation, but in older Flexsim versions the taskexecuter is not available in the library.
Have you looked at the checkbox "rotate while traveling". When you want to know more about taskexecuters and the basic TE start in the help file with the TaskExecuter object and read about offset travel. |
