Has anyone been able to run V5.0 on an Eee PC
Hussan from Australia is having difficulty running Flexsim 5.0 (evaluation) on his Asus Eee PC - can't connect objects.
Th laptop is tiny and spec is obviously limited, with Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N270 @1.60GHz 1.60GHz, 0.99GB of RAM Physical Address Extension. I have 10 inch Asus N10 and Flexsim runs quite well on it - It has the same Atom processor as Hussan's but also has 256Mb Nvidia graphics (yes in something so small!) and 2GB Ram. I suspect that the graphics and extra RAM my be the difference but I thought I'd ask other users if anyone has tried this before. Thanks, Kenny |

Kenny,
Sounds like he should change the graphics settings. In the old versions there was the graphics configurator, this is now somewhere in the preferences I think. Change it to high compatibility and I think the problems are solved. I had exactly the same problems on a dell netbook with only onboard graphics. Thanks Stephen, it worked. I'm not sure how big the models can get but at least it runs on the EeePC.
If anyone want's to run Flexsim on a travel laptop, I suggest an Asus N10. Standard Atom-based 10 inch travel laptop but also has built-in 256Mb Nvidia 9300 card. Cheers, Kenny |
