Receiving loaded pallets
I am trying to simulate a truckload of loaded pallets arriving at a warehouse. The pallets would be unloaded and then broken down into flowitems (cartons) for further processing. I tried using the "loaded pallet" flow item generated from a source (receiving door) however it does not have any contents. The alternate is to have the source generate the cartons, use a combiner to put the cartons to a pallet and then have the combined pallet moved to a separator to be broken down. I was just trying to avoid the extra steps. Is there any other way to do this?

Hi,
What you can do is generate a pallet with source and combiner. When the pallet are created with the cartons, right click with the mouse on the pallet. Choose Edit->Add to User Library, now a user library is created. In the the User Library you will have an object, drag that object to the model. You will get a message box saying something like "Product has been added to the flowitem bin". Look now in the flowitem bin and in bottom of the bin you will have your object. Now you can use the object in your model. Lars-Olof |
