Flexnet
Anthony mentioned in a post about V5 that you were going to move towards software licensing for Flexsim called Flexnet do you have any more details on this or what form it's going to take?

Yes, there will no longer be a HASP option in v5. Flexnet does have a hardware key option, but we haven't looked into that much. If enough users request the hardware key option, then we may add it.

Borrowing a License
Hello Anthony,
can I borrow a volume net license too. I need this function to transfer a license to a portable computer and then show a model at a different location. I have another question about the flexnet servers, i can run on a single workstation. I use already three servers on this machine. Will there be the opportunity to merge different licenses files? Flexnet
Hi Anthony
We only have the one license of Flexsim however I use it on my desktop PC and on the lap top depending on where I am working/presenting. I would really like to maintain this flexibility of using it on different machines as and when required. Regards Anth |

Flexsim will use Flexnet's newer Trusted Storage technology, and not the license file-based technology. "Borrowing" is essentially the same as activating, since you can return the license to your company's server once you're finished with it.
You can transfer license rights between different servers, so yes. |

HASP Key needed
It´s the same Problem for me, to use Flexsim on the machine I´m probably working with. For presentation I always use an Notebook, for normal working and experiments an Desktop PC. This way it would be great to have this option in V5 too.

Activation IDs for runtime versions will only activate certain features of the software. The process is the same, but what it unlocks is different.
