Truck Replacement Time
Is there a way to simulate truck replacement time (the time it takes for a truck in queue to pull up to the gate process once the truck currently at the gate process leaves. I'd imagine you would use a setup time, but only if there's a truck in queue. If the lane is open, the truck would go straight to the gate process and begin its process time without a setup time. Thanks for any help.

Jamie,
Here's an example model that shows a replacement time. I've added a label called "lastexittime" to the processor. In the exit trigger of the processor I set the label's value to the current time. Then, in the setup time field, if the current time is equal to the last exit time, the setup time is non-zero, otherwise it's zero. This is a standard Flexsim model, not Flexsim CT, but you can basically copy the logic to your model by just adding the label to your GateProcess object, and copying the exit trigger and setup time field over. Hope this helps, |
