Default Higher Resolution Model Images Or Screenshots

Hi FlexSim community,

This is my first post on the Forum. I have searched the forum and literature for an answer to this question if it is even possible I do not know yet.

I have succeeded in exporting "screenshots" from the selected view (sv()) using the viewtofile command. The problem is that the outputed .bmp image's resolution is limited to my monitor's resolution.

Is there away to output an image (not exactly a screenshot) that has a greater than what we see on the screen using this function or something else entirely? Any guidance towards documentation or commands is much appreciated.

Also, I am also using FlexSim version 4.5.2. If it is favorable to use 5.0 for what I am describing, I can as well.

Cheers and Happy Holidays!

Tom

Default

Some graphics card allow you to extend your desktop beyond the monitor resolution. Also if you have two monitors you can often set them up to operate as an extended desktop so increasing your resolution.

If the idea is to get better quality by subsequently lowering the resolution, have you tried altering the 3D settings (on nVidia cards you can access those through the nVidia Control Panel) where you can experiment with antialiasing to create a smoother image without 'jaggies'. You'll need to restart Flexsim after making any changes.

Thumbs up

Thank you Jason.

It seems that the only way is to increase the PC's resolution. Luckily, we have a spare 1900x1200 res monitor lying around.

I still haven't tried the extended desktop since I'm using an ATI card that does not seem to support this feature.

Default viewtofile Windows 7

So having successfully used viewtofile with Windows XP, the model runs with FlexSim 4.5.2 installed on Windows 7, however, there is an issue.

Each time the viewtofile function is called a screenshot is saved with the designated filename in the designated location, however, every screenshot is identical to the first one and does not reflect the visual on the screen. The simulation is being run at a slower speed, which gives time for the screenshots to be captured. Also note that sv() is the designated view that is being captured and is being set before commencing the sim.
