One of the greatest features enabled in Flexsim 5.1 was smaller model file sizes. Long time Flexsim users know that in the old days saved Flexsim models (*.fsm) compressed incredibly well - sometimes down to 10% or even less of their original filesize.

Flexsim 5.1 included automatic compression for saved models. You may have noticed that a model you had built in a version <5.1 was suddenly much MUCH smaller after saving it in Flexsim 5.1.

Its finally time for our community forum to acknowledge this fact. I've just enabled .fsm files to be attached to forum posts. You won't have to .zip your models anymore just to post them. As an example, I've attached a .fsm, both raw and zipped. You can see that the zipped version is even slightly larger!

Keep in mind that if your model includes other assets (3D graphics, images, documentation), you'll probably still want to zip it all together for attachment. Also, if you're posting a .fsm file from Flexsim versions <5.1 (or CT <3.0.2, HC<3.0 [not yet released]), you should still zip them before attaching.
Attached Files
File Type: fsm fsmAttachExample.fsm (26.2 KB, 229 views)
File Type: zip fsmAttachExample.zip (26.3 KB, 221 views)
