Default items flow in new conveyor library...

I met some confused issues how to use the new conveyor objects...
The new conveyor library make me confused to use them.
I think the help manual is only for developer not user.

I made the new sample model using new one such as I made using the old conveyor.
I want to send the items from one conveyor to three conveyors in the case of three item types.
But it can't simulate like the old.

What's the problems in using the decision point?

Or which objects should I use for them?

Thanks.

Hi syseo,

I am not sure if exit and entry transfers are designed to connect 2 conveyors. To connect 2 conveyors you can connect them directly. Check the user manual under Conveyors > Connecting Conveyors.

I modified your example model to show how you can connect conveyors directly and use the decision points to route objects based on their item type.

Smile Thanks. But it needs to connect indirectly to next conveyors....

Hi. Davis.

Yes. I know already direct connection to be possible.
In the case of making items moved by transporter like operator indirectly, direct connection is not useful.

The old conveyor should be replaced with the new one.

I want to know how to use the new conveyor like the old.

Thanks for your trying to my issue.

Ryan, thanks for providing the model. How would a single conveyor connected three different queues which are for three different itemtype be?

Thanks

David

I changed the second conveyor line to do what you want to do. When you use the send logic, you need to send to a conveyor point that is reachable within the conveyor system (without the item having to move off a conveyor), so you connect the decision point to the exit transfers associated with dispatching to each next conveyor.

I moved two of the exit transfers out to the sides so you can see them better (and because it looks like there's a bug if you put them all at the end; I'll fix that)

While we designed it to work using the method I showed, I see your point that this might be non-intuitive for your scenario, especially given that people are used to the old conveyor system. I will go ahead and make it so that if you add exit-to-input transfers directly between two conveyors, it will take that into account in calculating its routing table. This will make it so that both the second and third conveyor lines you created will work.

Anthony

Another area that you might want to consider is the connection to the TE. In the previous conveyor, we connect once to the centre port of the conveyor but now we need to connect to each Exit Transfer. Is there a better way to approach this?

I'll see if I can make that easier in the future. For now I think you can just change it to centerobject(up(item), 1), and then connect the conveyor's center port.
