Record Staytime

I'm trying to set up a table that records the staytime of a truck. I'd like to get the time it takes a truck to drive through a gate road and go through a processor. I'm having trouble trying to set a label on a truck. In the OnEntry trigger of the gate road, i'd input setlabelnum(item, "start_time", time). I don't think it works if I use "item" as the object. Can someone help me with the code?

I got it to work. After doing a more thorough search on the forum , I found that I needed to add the label to the flow item in the flow item bin. Then that enabled me to set a label to the item.
