Default Flexsim Network License Installation Guide

Here is a new and improved guide for installing and troubleshooting network licenses in Flexsim 4. I hope this will resolve any previous issues users have had with network installations.

Default Flexsim Network License Installation Guide_v2

More and more users are required to use the nethasp.ini file for explicitly declaring the IP address of the server machine, so I wanted to include this as a standard step rather than a troubleshooting step. Here's version 2 of the installation guide:

Default Experfit with LAN - Cannot find network key

There have been instances where after successfully configuring a Flexsim network license using the nethasp.ini file, Expertfit gives a 'cannot find network key' error.

If you have to use the nethasp.ini file approach to get a Flexsim client machine to find the network license, it is likely that you will have to save another COPY of the nethasp.ini file to the Expertfit install directory (\Flexsim4\expertfit) in order for Expertfit to launch properly.

I have recently tried to revert back to using my license on a network but when it came to the license manager it asked I wanted to install it as a Service or and Application, which is it?
Does it matter on the order of the installation as the IT department may not have followed exactly as described.
Thanks.

Hi,

The license manager should be installed as a service.

Then it starts automatically when the computer starts up.

Silly question, still installed as a service on a server.

Thanks
Alistair
