Default Linking Resources and Flow Chart Issue

Hello,

In the attached Model I have not found a solution how to:

1. Link the DressingRoom to the MRI so that the patient once selected the room were both resources are performs the process in that room.

2. After the ambulant patient has been treated in the MRI and is dressed again he shall go to the registration and receive information or documents before he leaves.

a) With the Flow Chart A where the RegistrationArea are has a link to the PatientExitArea the Patients that come in will leave directly.

b) With the Flow Chart B where the WaitingRoomArea has a link to the PatientExitArea the
Patients go briefly to the WaitingRoomArea and then to the Exit

To me case a) seems correct but does not work

Sorry that the model is in German I tried to renmae it in English but then the model did not work anymore. Once you run it i think you will understand.

Please advice

Regards,

Peter

I think I found a solution for 1., using Based on location matching for the Resource Destination with patientlocation

Also I discovered that names for the Area may not have any spaces or special characters. Could be that the underscore in some Area Names causes some problems I have.

Yes, I agree that the "Based on location matching" picklist option is a good one for you to use.

When I run the model, I notice that your patients get stuck in the WaitingLineArea. This is because the patients have an activity to be escorted to the DressingRoomArea next, but there is no connection from the WaitingLineArea to the DressingRoomArea in your FloorChart.

I don't fully understand all of your questions, but please take note of the option in the "Entrance Criteria for Next Patient" for your PatientExit and PatientQueuing objects in the model. You may need to use the option that restricts entry unless the patient has been explicitly assigned to go to the location/area such as the option titled "Longest waiting, highest acuity patient assigned to a specific area".

As for naming of objects and areas, it is OK to use the underscore character. Don't be concerned about bad names because the software will restrict you from writing a bad name. Activity naming is not as strict and you can actually use spaces in their names if you like.

Good luck!

Thanks Cliff, I got my model to work.

Regarding Destinations I looked up Lou Kellers Multiple Transport Usage Model and found "Based on various selection criteria". I can not find it in Version 4.3 is that gone with the new version?

Regards, Peter

It has been renamed "Based on destination status".
