Default Animated Arrow

All,

This session file contains a new object that was the precursor to the moving conveyor. This new object is animated in two ways, first, the textures that you apply to it move and second the arrow will grow along the layout that you specify. I have included three textures with the session file that where special built for this object. When you open the session file there is an example of the object, you will need to compile the entire session and run the model before it shows up.

To view the object unzip the attachd zip file into your userprojects directory. Next move the subtle arrow .bmp files to the fs3d directory. Then open the "Visual Arrow.fss" file (File -> Advanced Files -> Open Project or Session) and compile the entire session (Build -> Compile Entire Session).

You can change the width and height of the arrow by changing the y and z sizes (respectively) in the properties menu. The look and speed of the texture can be changed by changing the Texture Length and Texture Inc. values (respectively) in the parameters page. The Speed value will effect the growth rate of the arrow. The Start Time is the simulation time at which the arrow will begin to grow (-1 for never) and the End Delay is the time that the arrow will stick around after it has finished growing.

You can add key points to the arrow in the Key Points tab. The size of the key points can be changed with the Key Point Length and Key Point Scale values. The Demo arrow has 4 key points to demonstrate this feature.

You can change the layout of the arrow in the Layout tab. It works exactly like a conveyor.

Let me know what you think and what would make it better!
Brandon

For those of you who don't think that this should be included in the software would you please consider posting your comments as to why you feel that way?

Thanks,
Brandon

I use 4.52 on XP. I got the similar error. The error messages in Compile Console window are:
