Default Can Flexsim be used for modeling human services?

From your website, it looks like Flexsim is used primarily for simulating manufacturing and material handling operations. I'm wondering how well Flexsim will work for modeling services within a hospital?

Sujata,

Thanks for your interest in Flexsim. Flexsim is a general purpose modeling tool that can be (and has been) used to simulate processes in all types of industries, but unfortunately you're right in that both our web site and even our default library of model building objects that comes with the package tend to favor the manufacturing, material handling and logistics market.

I can assure you that Flexsim will work very well for simulating the processes within a hospital. Although the standard object library can be used as-is to create a human services model, you will be interested to know that we are currently developing a new library of objects designed specifically for simulating patient flow through an Emergency Department and Radiology Department. This new library will greatly simplify the task of building simulation models for patient flows of this nature. If you are interested in learning more about this ongoing work, please contact me (Cliff King) directly and I'll be happy to fill you in on the details.

Here are some screen shots of a model built with this new Flexsim Health Care Library I've mentioned:
