Default Modeling non-accumulating conveyor in flexsim

I have a need to model an overhead chain conveyor that has J-hooks at specific length intervals to hang products onto (sort of like meat packing). The conveyor thus has a specific length with a set number of J-hooks capacity. The model is supposed to track utilization of this conveyor by measuring the use of these hooks. Any ideas as to how to model such non-accumulating fixed capacity conveyors in Flexsim?

Those submitting truly helpful ideas will get a hook named after them (I have 400 of them on this conveyor loop so there is plenty of room for all ideas).

Thanks

Shankar,

I suggest that you have a look into the model “Sample_TiltTrayConveyor_TD” in the download section under User Concept Models.
In a way, I guess a Tilt Tray Conveyor is like a chain conveyor. So I would use this concecpt that items represent the hooks.

Anyway, it might be worse a thought.

Good success!
