You use the 'place in bay' and 'place in level' pick options on the 'Rack' page of its Properties GUI.

If you need to have a single function to find the position, then call that function in the 'Place In Bay' pick option (using the functions return value as the bay value), and within the function put a label called 'Level' on the item so that you can just read that in the 'Place in Level' pickoption.

Thanks for your reply but actually i wanted to set up no of bay and no of level dynamically by default it is 10.

Yeah you are right for placing items we can do it by setting bay and level label on each item and same to be reflected on rack properties.

Hoping there must be a command to set up no of bays and no of levels for rack dynamically through script in gui.

Look forward to your reply.

Hi,

Remember that is very easy to see how Flexsim do things behind their GUI.

To set number of levels and bay for a rack I would do this.
Place a rack in model vied, open the rack and go to Size Table.
Now right click close to the button Apply Basic Settings.
In the Pop-up menu choose View->Explore Stucture.
Now you can look how Flexsim updates number of levels and bays.

It may require some looking around in the tree structure before you get all information you need.
